Retinopathy of Prematurity

Premature babies can develop changes in the blood vessels at the back of the eye (retina). These changes occur soon after birth and can permanently impair vision. All premature babies should have their eyes assessed by an ophthalmologist, especially those with a birth weight of under 1200g.
