What are Cataracts?
Within your eye, the lens is used to focus light that enters the front of the eye to form a picture on the retina at the back of the eye.
In a young person, the lens of the eye is perfectly clear but it becomes gradually cloudier with increasing age - like a window, which is never cleaned.
When there is a cloudy area in the lens of the eye, it is called a cataract. As a cataract develops, the eyesight becomes worse even if the correct spectacles are worn.
