Luis Amaya MD, FRCOph
Trained in South America; subspecialty training in Paediatric
Ophthalmology and Strabismus in London. Worked for 10 years in South America
at Charity University Children’s Hospital as head of the Department.

Phacoemulsification. Retinopathy of Prematurity. |

Moin Mohamed PhD, FRCS,
FRCOphth
Moin Mohamed is a consultant at St Thomas’ Hospital, London,
specialising in medical retinal disease. He undertook his training in
Sheffield and Leeds with advanced sub-specialty training at Moorfields Eye
Hospital. He was the recipient of a prestigious Wellcome Trust Fellowship,
leading to the award of a PhD for original research into the molecular and
genetic basis of inherited eye disease. He now specialises in medical
retinal disease (including diabetes, age-related macular degeneration and
genetic eye diseases) and cataract surgery in patients with pre-existing
retinal disorders. He also has a particular interest in utilising new laser
and intra-vitreal injection strategies in the management of these
conditions. |

Sheng Lim
Mr Sheng Lim is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital
in London. He undertook his general ophthalmology and glaucoma training at
Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital and had further
training in Glaucoma at the Mayo Clinic in the USA. He has a doctorate
degree from his research into glaucoma surgery from the University of London
and now specialises in glaucoma and cataract surgery |

Denise Mabey
Denise Mabey is clinical Lead for ophthalmology at Guy's and St
Thomas' Trust. Her interests are in Primary Care ophthalmology and cataract
surgery. Her clinics take general referrals as well as for eyelid cysts,
cataracts and glaucoma suspects. Research and capacity building interests
are in tropical ophthalmology in Africa. She is a trustee of Sightsavers
International. |

David O'Brart
David O'Brart has specialist interests corneal, cataract, refractive
surgery and glaucoma. With numerous scientific publications, books and book
chapters and as a council member of the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract &
Refractive Surgeons, a member of the microsurgical skills committee and
Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists he has an excellent
national and international reputation in cornea and refractive surgery. |

Mr Tom Williamson MD MBChB
FRCOphth FRCS
Tom H Williamson is a consultant
ophthalmologist St Thomas’ hospital, London, UK,
with a specialist interest in vitreoretinal
surgery, including retinal detachment, macular
hole, epiretinal membrane, diabetic retinopathy,
age related macular degeneration, trauma and
complications of anterior segment surgery. He
trained in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Cambridge and
London (St Thomas' hospital and Moorfields Eye
hospital). He has attended many institutions in
the USA. He is the author of a major text book
on vitreoretinal surgery and has over 100
publications in international research journals
(particular interests are retinal vein occlusion
and uveitis) and other texts. With approximately
5000 vitreoretinal operations performed under
his care in the last 10 years, he has experience
second to none in the UK. |

David Spalton
David Spalton has a special interest in cataract surgery, complex
cataract surgery and intraocular lens related problems. He has published
widely in this area and has an international reputation for his research in
this field. He is the current President of the United Kingdom and Ireland
Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (UKISCRS) and a Board Member of
the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS). His
textbook 'An Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology' won the prize for the Best
Medical Textbook of the year in 2005. |

Alistair Laidlaw
Mr Alistair Laidlaw trained in Bristol, where he undertook an MD
research higher degree, and at Moorfields in London where he was trained in
vitreo-retinal surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant at St Thomas'
Hospital London and The Maidstone Hospital Kent in 1998. His specialist
interest is in retinal diseases including surgery for problems such as
retinal detachment, macular hole and diabetic retinopathy. |

Mr Danny Morrison BSc (Hons),
MBChB, FRCOphth, MD
Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Guy's
and St Thomas' NHS Trust and The Evelina Children's Hospital. Trained at
Moorfields Eye Hospital where he also did advanced training in Oculoplastic
Surgery, then a Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology at Great Ormond
Street and King's College. Research/MD was for The Department of Health and
Edinburgh University. Expertise in Paediatric Ophthalmology, Squints, and
Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery. |
