Paul Ursell is an NHS consultant who runs a
large NHS and private practice in Surrey. He is one of the senior
ophthalmology consultants at Epsom & St Helier University NHS Trust. Mr.
Ursell treats all diseases of the eye and vision including Cataracts,
Glaucoma, Diabetes and Macular Degeneration. An acknowledged expert on
cataract surgery, Mr Ursell is an invited lecturer to academic meetings to
teach cataract surgery across the world. He was the first UK surgeon to be
gain an MD thesis in modern cataract surgery and was a Lecturer in eye
surgery at Oxford University for 4 years after which he was a senior fellow
in Cataract and Corneal Surgery at the Lions Eye Institute in Perth. He is a
Council Member of the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgeons, a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a Freeman of
the City of London and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle
Makers. Mr. Ursell qualified as a doctor from St Mary’s Hospital Medical
School and trained as a junior surgeon in London.
